Mikkel Togsverd Wendover 02/02/08:
Hi Mark - the jaw is still worked and will not be sore for long. I really enjoyed and was totally knackered in the evening - all that fear!!
Was good to push the limits a bit and get my bum-back-routine to feel more like second nature.
I'll be up for riding with you guys for sure in a couple of week all the best.
Regards
Mikkel
Anita Hartley MK 02/01/2008: Hey girls can do this goat thing too... Mr Spesh thought it'd be a good idea for his rock-chic to join in the fun of the goats. Once he'd finished taking the piss out of my pink bike (in my opinion there was nothing wrong with it, and it's not pink its blue) he decided to kit me out with a proper bike. After a few minutes in the woods I realised what was wrong with my pink one! No way would it have been able to handle the descents he was putting me through and forget taking it up the climbs.
Wow, this mountain biking is GREAT. What an adrenalin buzz. Mr Spesh found the right descents for my abilities and explained how each one should be tackled. OK, so next time when he tells me to miss the log jumps and use the track at the side I'll pay more attention, I'm sure I scarred a few squirrels with my "oh *!@#" as I flew through the air!
Each ride I'm learning more and building up my skills and confidence, and the brakes are being used less and less on the downhill. I never thought being cold, wet and muddy with a goat could be so much fun.
Andrew Smith Luton 07/10/07: Thanks for a great day Mark, thanks for taking the time to explain things in depth and show that instruction on the bike on the trials. I'll be back in 2008 for some more excellent training thanks again.
Paul & Alan Stevens Palmers Green London 23/09/2007: Me and my bro had been riding a few years now taking in some of the welsh trials but always seem to be skirting the big Rad stuff and drop off's " thinking hhhhmmmm i'd love to just hit that and ride it " don't get me wrong we are very competitive but just needed that little extra. Mr Spesh Brilliant ! ! know's he's own limits but always pushes them, spent a couple of hours with us doing some urban stuff that got our juices flowing so we booked a day full on mental nuttah stylee. Scared ? YES - Crashed ? YES - Stoked ? YES Most defiantly - Big Smile ? oh god YES. Last task of the day " Dusty Bottom " talk about sh*t ourselves or was that Adrenalin ? or a mix of the two Mr spesh made it look easy and controlled but hey you know " he bloody got us nailing it " what a buzz hi fives all round awesome day.
Mr L Morley MK 23/05/2007: After months of toying with the idea I finally gave in to temptation. Having not ridden a mountain let alone a bike in some years I was a little apprehensive to say the least. They guys sorted me out a loan bike and some kit which I thought was a nice touch for someone new to the sport. Their patience paid off as towards the end of the evening I was riding with more confidence and they had got me going of some jumps! And hitting some descents with speed! They found the kid in me for sure, what a buzz! Thanks guys
P Lewis Northampton 07/01/07: Was a little unsure what to expect on the day then meeting a few other riders booked on the course the same day. After a initial brief and bike once over we had a little bike handling tuition before setting off for a warm up ride of a few Km. Time for the first decent of the day. Mark took the time to run over the basics then got all of us to spot on the decent as we all sessioned the decent. Leading on from Mark's enthusiasm we all started on the encouragement as we all started to get faster and smoother. It was not long before the group started to get along like life long friends all down to Mr Spesh. The day past so quickly but at the end we all had big smiles.
Shaun Bracewell Towcester 07/01/07: Found it very interesting to ride in mixed bunch of riders that you had never met before but shared the same passion. Had right laugh on the day met some new ride partners so all is good. Highlights of the day drops Crash ! Bang ! Wallop ! Ouch ! all very different decent's all nailed as these goats say. thanks for wicked day in the saddle.
A. Milne MK 07/01/07: What a day ! feel like i have gone 15 rounds with mike tyson ! lol can't believe the stuff you got us all doing you mad man. Hats off to you Mark you had the patients and skill set to get us all riding better. Nice one matey.
Hugh Byrne Glutton 28/12/2006: Being an active rugby player one of the guys who rides with these goat guys suggested I give this a go, not one for shirking a challenge I decided for a morning session. Never ridden a bike off road before so it was a real eye opener for me. They supplied the bike, helmet and gloves and took us out on a small 8K loop to show me the ropes. Fitness wise I coped, technical ability on a mountain Bike zero!! Still they have the patience of a saint and by the end of the ride they had me going down stuff you think twice about walking down, that goes for the climbs too!! Ouch boy these guys make it look easy! I’m off to buy a mountain bike this is great see you soon cheers Hugh.
Stuart Chung MK 01/12/2006: I don’t think I could have felt anymore knackered after 18 miles, but going through the motions and pain with the guidance of a professional made it more rewarding – who would of thought I’d be burning down some serious single track and descents after 6 hours! All in all an unbelievable day in the woods....thank you.
