JACKETS

Altura Night vision jacket 05/2006 purchased this to super seed my Endura convertible that was looking worse for ware. Wanting more warmth, weather protection plus safety options for night riding. The overall jacket offered everything and was a cheaper than a full-blown GoreTex jacket. Overall the jacket has performed well considering what it’s put through all year riding. Going into autumn 06 the water repellent zipper started to play up and this only got worse to such an extent the zipper would eye up half way so you couldn’t zip up or down. The pull toggle then came off along with the zip mount. The same scenario has happened to an Altura Kinetic Jacket. There seems to be nothing much wrong with the jackets and they cost between £60 - £80 and are let down by poor zippers. We found our local Johnson’s dry cleaners seamstress invaluable and have put two colour matching more robust zippers in both jackets at a cost of £29 each. Alas they are no longer water repellent zippers but it means at least the jackets can still be used. 5/10
